Unguwa Bawa, Sabon Birnin is a town in Lere, Kaduna State, Nigeria. Ready to Shift forms partnerships with communities that are taking action to address short-term needs and bring about development in their community. These activities are led by the community, are intended to be sustained by the community, and serve as a foundation for long-term change.

Goal & Opportunity
The focus of RTS in Unguwa Bawa was a voter education program designed to educate and mobilize members of the community on how to make informed decisions about elected leaders. It also includes modules on how to register to vote, why you should vote, voting on community issues, and going out to vote.

Impact:

Shift Nigeria was able to facilitate 400 hundred voter registrations across the Unguwa Bawa CommunitY. A public meeting was held between members of the Federal House of Representatives (Lere constituency) and community members to hear their opinions  and concerns bringing politicians closer to their constituents.
